MAN CITY LEGEND VINCENT KOMPANY TAKES CHARGE OF BURNLEY AFTER RELEGATION
Newly-relegated Burnley have confirmed the arrival of Vincent Kompany as their new manager.
An official statement read: “Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Vincent Kompany as first-team manager.
“The 36-year-old joins after departing the Belgian First Division’s R.S.C Anderlecht where he spent three years. He joined Anderlecht in 2019 as player-manager before taking on the role full-time in August 2020.”
Reacting to the appointment, the Manchester City legend said: “Burnley is a truly historic English side and it is an honour to be appointed first-team manager.
“I’m excited by the challenge ahead. I’m looking forward to getting to work with the players and creating a positive, winning team for our fans when we return to Turf Moor.”
Burnley will play in the Championship next season and fight for promotion to the Premier League.
