Manchester City will turndown future transfer approaches from Premier League title rivals Arsenal, according to a new report.
Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko both completed moves to North London from the Etihad Stadium last summer, while head coach Mikel Arteta left Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff to become Arsenal boss in 2019.
The Gunners currently lead Manchester City by six points in the Premier League title race though Arsenal have played one game more than the Blues and are due to travel to the Etihad later this month.
City beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium in February courtesy of second half goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland, after Bukayo Saka cancelled out Kevin De Bruyne’s opening goal from the penalty spot.
The Blues are bidding to win a third successive Premier League title and are also currently fighting to win the UEFA Champions League and Emirates FA Cup.
Arsenal, who were also knocked-out of the FA Cup by City in the fourth round, face a potentially title-defining clash at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday 26th April.
Jesus and Zinchenko would both be expected to start against the Sky Blues that evening, with the pair having both won four Premier League titles during their time with Manchester City.
Arsenal signed Jesus for £45 million in July prior to a £32 million deal for Zinchenko.
City and Arsenal have done many deals in the past, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Bacary Sagna all moving to East Manchester from the Emirates.
Manchester City will not however be doing any business with the Gunners in the near future, as Football Insider claim that the Sky Blues will turndown any offers from Arsenal for first-team players.
Any approaches from the Gunners will be ‘rejected’ this summer with City reportedly ruing their decision to sanction the sales of both Jesus and Zinchenko.
City failed to sign a replacement at left-back although Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have had remarkable debut campaigns up front.
Haaland scored his 30th Premier League goal of the season on Saturday evening, scoring twice during a 4-1 win over Southampton at St Mary’s.
