Man United And Bayern Munich Want Arsenal’s William Saliba
RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins is reporting that William Saliba (22) will sign a four-year contract with Arsenal, with the option of a further year, despite interest from clubs across Europe.
As reported by The Athletic on Saturday, Arsenal and Saliba have reached an agreement over an extension. The talks have been extensive, spanning several months, but look finally to have found a positive conclusion. Despite joining the Gunners back in 2019, Saliba has only just experienced his breakthrough at the club, following successful loan spells in Ligue 1 with OGC Nice and then Olympique de Marseille.
Saliba has become so integral to Arsenal’s defence that his absence through injury at the end of the season coincided with a dip in form that saw them miss out on the Premier League, having led for much of the season. Hawkins has now confirmed that Saliba has reached an agreement, and the deal will run until 2027, with the option for a further year. The France international’s current deal was set to expire next summer.
Hawkins also revealed that Premier League rivals Manchester United, as well as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, were both interested in tempting Saliba away from Arsenal.
