Mohamed Salah has already stated that he is going to stay at Liverpool next season – but his future beyond that is unclear.
According to The Athletic, the club and the player are still some way from reaching an agreement over the contract extension.
It is claimed that Salah was offered a 15 per cent pay rise on his current deal, which has been deemed insufficient by the forward and his camp.
Salah’s priority is to stay at Anfield but if he does not get an offer that would reflect his status as one of the world’s best players, his preference would be to join another Premier League club on a free transfer.
The Egyptian has scored 156 goals in 254 games since arriving at Anfield in 2017.
