MOHAMMED POLO TOLD GHANA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION TO FIX ASANTE KOTOKO FORWARD FRANK MBELLA IN THE BLACK STARS
Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to recruit Asante Kotoko forward Frank Mbella for the Black Stars.
The Cameroonian is having a good time in the Ghana Premier League.
Mbella has 19 goals in 28 games, putting him on track to break Ishmael Addo’s 22-goal record in the Ghana Premier League.
Mbella’s goals are primarily responsible for Asante Kotoko’s pursuit of a record-extending 25th title.
A number of clubs, including Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, have expressed interest in his performance according to reports.
Speaking in an interview on Beach FM, the former Hearts of Oak coach said, “Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. He is African, he is playing in the Ghanaian league, he is playing the highest level of football and he is doing well.
“In his country, nobody saw him and if he’s come into our country and doing well in our league, it means we have given him the chance and so there’s nothing wrong with that.” Polo, who played and coached Kotoko’s bitter rivals Hearts of Oak”.
