Nacho Fernandez Surprises Real Madrid Fans With Statement On Gavi– ‘He Is A Good Kid’
Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez could not be more Madridista if he tried, and few will feel the psssion of El Clasico more than him. However when it comes to Spain duty, that is all forgotten.
Gavi has become one of the more frustrating figures in Spanish football for Real Madrid fans of late, with many feeling he gets away with fouls on the pitch. That feeling grew on Sunday when Gavi was seen taking Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos out off the ball.
Nacho defended Gavi’s character, putting it down to simply a part of football.
“I didn’t talk to Gavi about that topic. It’s a Clasico there are kicks, fights, friction… It’s football. No need to review it again. The goal is to win with the National Team. When I play again, the same thing will happen again and it’s better for you, because that’s how you have more of a ruckus to speak about. Gavi is a good kid.”
The Real Madrid veteran was impressed with both him and his Barcelona teammate, Pedri.
“They look good to me. They are players who have established themselves at Barcelona, which is very difficult. They can help us a lot.”
Nacho also had words of fondness for his new manager Luis de la Fuente.
“Luis is very close. Very affectionate with everyone. I didn’t know him until Monday arrived. They had told me how he was and they were not wrong. Very similar to the profile of the coach we have at Real Madrid. He gives you confidence and love. It’s very important.”
Ceballos himself has said he has no issue with Gavi, revealing that de la Fuente asked the pair to ensure there was no bad feeling between them. There is of course a history of friction between elements of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the Spain side.
