Newcastle United Join Arsenal And Man United In Race For Mohammed Kudus
Newcastle United have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race for Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, reports The Athletic.
The Ghana international is under contract at the Eredivisie club until 2025 and he rejected a one-year extension last month.
Kudus has told Ajax he wants to leave this summer and they want around £40 million for him.
Everton were linked with the 22-year-old last summer, but the Dutch club blocked the move.
The Toffees could attempt to sign him again but must survive the drop first.
A move to the Premier League appears to be on the cards for Kudus, and more clubs could join Newcastle, Arsenal and Man United in the race.
The former Nordsjaelland star produced several excellent performances for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar last year.
He grabbed two goals in three appearances at the competition and has bagged 18 goals and five assists in 41 games for Ajax this term.
Newcastle are looking for another winger as they want to sell Allan Saint-Maximin, and Kudus fits the bill.
He can play on the right and through the middle, and Magpies manager Eddie Howe could do with such a lethal finisher.
Newcastle are playing European football next season after a long time, and Kudus’ experience could come in handy.
Joining the Gunners or the Red Devils may be even more appealing to the Ajax ace.
However, both clubs have enough attackers in their ranks, and he could struggle to play regularly.
