Official: Barcelona Will Play A Friendly Against Andres Iniesta’s Vissel Kobe On June
It’s official. Barcelona will travel to Japan right after the La Liga campaign is over to play a post-season friendly against Andres Iniesta’s Vissel Kobe outfit on June 6.
It had been previously reported that the Blaugrana were looking to play a post-season friendly encounter in order to generate some revenue, much like they did last year when they played the A-League All Stars team in Australia.
Japan has been chosen as the preferred destination this year, with Barcelona set to face Vissel Kobe. The game is set to take place on June 6 at the Japan National Stadium in Tokyo.
The match will see the La Liga leaders come face-to-face with club legend Andres Iniesta, who is the captain of Vissel Kobe. Another former Barcelona star, Sergi Samper, will also be in action against his former employers on the night.
Barça will finish their La Liga campaign with an away game against Celta Vigo on June 4 and it is expected that they will be on a plane to Japan right after that contest.
Barcelona first visited Japan in 1990. Since then, they have travelled to the Asian nation on nine more occasions, meaning the upcoming visit will be their 11th.
The Blaugrana had faced Vissel Kobe back in 2019 on a pre-season tour, with the game ending in a 2-0 win for the La Liga giants.
