PSG Confirm Milan Skriniar Signing And The Slovakian Gives Injury Update.
Paris Saint-Germain made their first signing of the summer transfer window in January when the capital club signed Milan Skriniar to a pre-contract during the winter transfer window.
The 28-year-old spoke with reporters while with the Slovakian national team and confirmed he’d be heading to Paris once his contract with Inter Milan expires on June 30.
Furthermore, Skriniar provided an update on his back injury, as many PSG supporters are likely concerned that the player will arrive and have a repeat of what occurred with Sergio Ramos.
“We’ll see how things go in Paris, but the important thing is that I’m fine,” Skriniar told reporters (h/t Canal Supporters). “I had a major injury and I tried to make up for lost time by training even when the team was resting. Today, I feel good, but without playing, you can’t find your game rhythm.
“If the coach wants to field me, I will help the team because I am ready and determined. In Paris, at PSG, we will see what will happen, but the important thing is to feel good.”
Skriniar coming in will see him slide into what PSG likely wants is a three-at-the-back system, with the former Inter Milan man joining Marquinhos to help solidify the defense for the 2023-24 season.
It will be interesting to see if the defender can come in and hit the ground running, as Skriniar can provide the leadership that PSG will miss now that Sergio Ramos has exited the capital club.
