Rangers Midfielder Nicolas Raskin Dreams Of Playing For Chelsea
In an interview with LDH, former Standard Liege midfielder Nicolas Raskin spoke of his dream to one day play for Premier League side Chelsea.
Raskin, who currently plays for Rangers, left Belgium for Scotland during the January transfer window after a period of prolonged negotiation between the two sides.
The 22-year-old has made 11 appearances for Rangers so far this season, including 74 minutes during their Scottish FA Cup semi-final loss to arch rivals Celtic.
During the interview, Raskin said ‘My ultimate dream is the Premier League and Chelsea‘. The midfielder was also asked about the difference in standard between the two leagues, to which he replied ‘Rangers and Celtic are better than the top of the Belgian league, but the opposite is true for the other clubs’.
Raskin rose to prominence at Standard Liege, where he made 95 appearances and scored five goals. He has also been capped at every Belgian youth level, but is yet to receive a call up to the senior side.
Certainly, if he were to achieve his dream of a Premier League move to Chelsea, it would be hard for Domenico Tedesco to ignore him. The midfielder currently has a €7m valuation according to Transfermarkt.
