Raphinha’s Agent Will Try To Convince Player Will To Move To Premier League
Deco has dominated the headlines around the Barcelona circles lately, with many fancying him as the ideal replacement for the outgoing sporting director Mateu Alemany.
But the Portuguese, for now, has remained focused on his current stint as a football agent. According to Diario SPORT, the former midfielder is set to arrive in Barcelona today to hold discussions over the future of one of his clients, Raphinha.
Deco had played a crucial role in helping Barça lure the Brazilian. Although the player has not exactly struggled in his first season, many were hoping for a bit more from the Brazilian international.
But with Raphinha still yet to make himself an indispensable figure under Xavi, the club are now open to offloading him in the coming summer, as part of their plans to reduce the salary mass and generate fresh revenue. The club are looking for a fee of around €80 million for the player.
The report suggests Deco will sit down and talk with Raphinha. He will try to convince the former Leeds United star to consider offers from the Premier League.
The explosive winger does indeed hold a lot of clout in England, having mesmerised the onlookers with his performances at Elland Road last season. He is rated highly by the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United.
Deco will convince how a return to the Premier League could be beneficial for the player. He knows the league quite well and is capable of excelling in the physical conditions of English football. After a somewhat mixed campaign at Barça, the Premier League should give him the opportunity to revive his career.
Raphinha’s future will not be the only thing on the agenda for Deco, though, as the Brazilian also plans to hold talks over his own future. There is a possibility he could become the new sporting director, with Alemany set to leave on June 30.
