Real Madrid are interested in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman as their next Galactico signing, according to a report from Depredict.
Los Blancos’ drawn-out saga of Kylian Mbappe proved futile after he snubbed the Spanish giants to pen a lucrative new deal with Paris Saint-Germain last year.
The reigning European champions have since been seeking an alternative for Mbappe, and his compatriot Coman’s name has cropped up.
Coman’s future was a subject of speculation before he penned an extension with Bayern until 2027 at the start of the last year.
The 26-year-old has been a vital cog for Bayern, making 251 appearances in all competitions while winning a plethora of titles.
His watershed moment was probably the decisive goal in the Champions League 2019/20 final against his former club PSG, which helped the Bavarians lift the title for the sixth time.
Coman is considered central to Julian Nagelsman’s plans, and the Bavarians have no plans to sell him.
Los Blancos would have to splurge more than €100 million to persuade the Frenchman to Santiago Bernabeu.
Coman recently netted a double in the 4-2 win against Wolfsburg, helping Bayern stay at the top of the Bundesliga table.
He will look to build on that performance when Bayern face PSG in their Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash next week.
Madrid could be in the market for attacking reinforcements in the summer, with Marco Asensio and Eden Hazard facing uncertain futures in the Spanish capital.
Karim Benzema is also showing signs of decline, but Carlo Ancelotti has stated that the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner will remain Madrid’s first-choice striker next season.
