Real Madrid Defender On Inter Milan’s Radar, Yet To Make Final Decision
There are three categories of player renewals for Real Madrid at the moment.
The first sect represents the players who have agreed on an extension with the club. On this list are the likes of Luka Modric, Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos who will all play in the all-white next season.
The second set includes those who are yet to secure an agreement with the club but transmits positive sensations over a renewal in the weeks. Marco Asensio find himself in such a situation.
The final group includes the likes of Dani Ceballos and Nacho Fernandez. The aforementioned duo have not ruled out the chance of staying next season but are keeping their options open. With every passing day, they move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
According to reports from Jose Felix Diaz, Inter Milan have called Nacho Fernandez and are waiting for him to reveal his decision. The Italians offer him a regular role in the team, something he direly missed at the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid, for their part, have also placed a renewal proposal on the table and the player has received the offer. The club are now waiting for him to reveal his decision.
The central defender has spoken numerous times about how he feels loved at Real Madrid and the pride he feels at the Bernabeu. Barring the lack of a starting role, there is no other factor pushing him away from the club.
Yet, as the player sees it, playing time is invaluable at this stage of his career. He is now 33 years old and does not wish to spend his final years at the top level as a substitute.
Nacho has only started 16 of Real Madrid’s 35 league games so far and has two goal contributions to his name in 24 appearances. Further, he averages 6.1 defensive actions per game and has overseen seven clean sheets.
