Carlo Ancelotti has agreed to become the manager of the Brazil national team in the summer, reports ESPN Brasil.
The Real Madrid manager’s contract with the La Liga club ends in 2024.
However, reports from South America claim he has said yes to Selecao and will sign a three-year deal.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has been searching for Tite’s replacement since he left after the World Cup in Qatar last December.
Ancelotti is yet to sign a deal with Brazil, but his contract will reportedly run from July 2023 until August 2026.
Madrid’s Brazilian players have been informed of the decision, but the Italian tactician and CBF do not plan to go public with the agreement.
Ancelotti is under pressure at the Santiago Bernabeu club after an underwhelming start to the season. Los Blancos are eight points behind leaders Barcelona after 20 games.
They are in the final of the Club World Cup and are expected to pip Al-Hilal to the top prize.
However, that might not be enough for Ancelotti to retain his job if he ends the season without a trophy.
Madrid are already out of the Copa del Rey and will face Liverpool in the Champions League round-of-16.
Ancelotti continues to deny links to the Brazil job.
However, he could be managing them in the coming months if he fails to lead Madrid to glory this term.
The 63-year-old has never managed in international football However, he has some experience at that level as he was the assistant manager of Italy between 1992 and 1995.
Ancelotti has since managed Reggiana, Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton.
