Reece James Misses Leeds Clash – But Could Be Ready For Dortmund
Chelsea are so obsessed with trying to get clicks on their website and app that they’re now even revealing exclusive injury news.
Yesterday in his press conference, Graham Potter said that Reece James was a doubt for this game as he had a tight hamstring. He didn’t give any detail beyond that, and make it sound possible James would be able to play today.
This morning, Chelsea have announced quotes from Potter saying that James is definitely out:
“We have been assessing him this week and feel it is too soon for the game today,” the coach explained.
Frankly, after seeing James miss so much game time in the last couple of seasons, we’re more than happy for him to be treated with extra care.
The good news is that Tuesday’s game against Dortmund in the Champions League is still a possibility for James:
“There is a strong chance he will be available for Tuesday [vs Dortmund] but this game comes too soon.”
If we were picking him for one of those two games it would be that Champions League second leg – let’s hope he’s ready for it.
