Report: Barcelona Looking To Improve Relationship With La Liga President
A recent report from SPORT has offered a comprehensive update on Barcelona’s market policy, detailing how the club plan to avoid Financial Fair Play restrictions by reducing the cost of the workforce and generating new income.
With Lionel Messi at the top of their agenda, the club are desperately seeking to meet La Liga’s requirements.
As per the report, one of the club’s main objectives is to reduce the tension between La Liga and Barcelona. The two have been at odds with each other for a while now and it appears the club seek to normalise the relationship with the league’s president, Javier Tebas.
Tebas and Barcelona president Joan Laporta have been at loggerheads for quite some time now, over multiple issues. But the club are looking to iron out the edges with the La Liga president nonetheless.
In an attempt to improve the said relationship, Barcelona could propose to remove the lawsuit it filed against La Liga for the CVC deal. The club had also filed a lawsuit against the Spanish football authority for not registering Gavi’s contract earlier in the year.
That could be removed as well, hoping it will go a long way in normalising the relationship between Tebas and Barcelona. These are the main non-market activities Barça seek to complete by the start of the summer transfer window.
However, it may take a lot more to convince the Spanish football league to lower their demands and help Barcelona meet the 1:1 rule, which in turn, could go a long way in allowing the club to sign players in the summer.
