Report: Barcelona See Andreas Christensen As ‘The Perfect Signing’
Barcelona had a terrific summer transfer window as they brought in as many as eight players in Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Pablo Torre, Marcos Alonso, Hector Bellerin, Franck Kessie, and Andreas Christensen.
It is safe to say that barring Bellerin, the rest of the players have proven to be good acquisitions for the club.
Lewandowski has been vital to Barcelona’s push for the La Liga title while Kounde has been exceptional as well. The likes of Raphinha and Kessie are slowly but surely starting to gain more prominence while Alonso’s versatility has made him an asset too.
But, according to Depredict, the Barcelona coaching staff and the sports management team see Christensen as the perfect signing that they made last summer.
The 26-year-old arrived at Camp Nou from Chelsea, joining as a free agent after his contract ran out. There was not much fanfare around the Dane’s acquisition initially, but over the course of the season, he has become an indispensable member of the team.
Indeed, Christensen has established himself as a pillar at the back, putting in top-notch displays game after game alongside Kounde and Ronald Araujo, helping the Blaugrana become one of the most solid defensive units in Europe.
The report states that Barcelona are very satisfied with how Christensen’s signing has worked out for the team. The 26-year-old has not only fit like a glove in Xavi’s system at Camp Nou, but he has also integrated very well into the dressing room.
It is claimed that the former Chelsea ace has earned the respect of his teammates, thanks to his attitude, work ethic and professionalism. At the same time, he is understood to be gelling well with players like Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong away from the pitch.
This sort of integration and adaptation at all levels has left the club impressed, who see the Dane as the ‘perfect signing’, having brought him on a Bosman deal.
