Report: Brazil FA To Travel To Spain To Hold Further Talks With Carlo Ancelotti
Real Madrid’s recent elimination from the UEFA Champions League appears to have reignited speculations over the future of Carlo Ancelotti.
Although the Real Madrid bosses were highly impressed by the team’s performances in the knockout rounds of the UCL, coupled with the success in the Copa Del Rey, the 4-0 bashing at the hands of Man City certainly was not taken well.
The humiliating defeat has led to fresh fears that Ancelotti might leave Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season, especially with the Italian being closely linked with a move to the Brazilian national team.
The Brazilian football federation, will land in Madrid next week to hold talks with Ancelotti. They will present an offer to the Italian coach and seek his final answer.
Brazil have maintained their interest in Ancelotti for a long time now, with the former AC Milan coach being identified as the ideal replacement for Tite. The previous coach left at the end of last year after Brazil’s debacle at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ancelotti has, time and time again, refused to talk about the links to Brazil, though. Heading into the Man City game, the veteran manager had even expressed his desire to remain at Santiago Bernabeu until the end of his contract, which expires in 2024.
But following the damaging result, it will be interesting to see whether Ancelotti faces internal pressure to leave the club in the coming summer, which in turn, could compel him to take up the offer from the CBF.
In the meantime, Ancelotti will be focused on leading his team to victories in the remaining matches of the season and end the season on a positive note.
