Report: Chelsea Transfer Target Want To Play For Real Madrid
Everything suggests this would be a vital transfer window for Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have already roped in Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund and are likely to target a striker following the departure of Karim Benzema.
Harry Kane has been identified as the desired replacement for Benzema, though Real Madrid are also open to signing a younger alternative in the form of Randal Kolo Muaui.
Nevertheless, another priority target for Los Blancos this summer is to sign a new right-back. With Dani Carvajal nearing the final phase of his career and Lucas Vazquez having his contract expiring at the end of next season, the club are in desperate need of a reliable long-term option.
Real Madrid have had no shortage of options either. They have been linked with a move for Reece James of Chelsea. They have also weighed the possibility of sanctioning the return of Achraf Hakimi.
In a major boost for Real Madrid, it appears both James and Hakimi are keen on playing for Real Madrid, too. This has been reported by Tomas Gonzalez Martin, who suggests both players would prefer joining Los Merengues ahead of the new season.
However, signing either of these two players could prove to be tricky for Real Madrid. The report suggests PSG are asking around €80 million for the services of Hakimi, who is regarded as one of the best fullbacks in Europe.
James is the more accessible option for Real Madrid right now, as Chelsea are feeling the compulsion to offload some of their star players in order to balance the books. But even then, the Englishman could prove to be a costly option for the club.
But with Los Blancos prepared to shell out up to €400 million this summer, it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming weeks.
