Report: Real Madrid Have Three Priorities In The Summer Transfer Window
Real Madrid’s vision for the summer transfer window has well and truly changed overnight. The Spanish institution are shaken up by the manner in which they fell apart against Manchester City and want to make amends at the earliest.
According to reports from MARCA, Los Blancos have identified three positions of importance that will be reinforced as a priority in June.
To begin with, Real Madrid are in desperate need of a number nine to back Karim Benzema up. The dream target on this front would appear to be either Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe.
However, the latter’s transfer involves a difficult negotiation while the former is contracted with Manchester City and has a release clause that triggers only next season. It could lead them to explore low-cost options such as Joselu of Espanyol.
The second department of importance is the fullback role.
Real Madrid require fresh legs on both ends of defence. Yet, the left-back position appears to be in a miserable state compared to the right flank, and the name of Alphonso Davies has been linked.
The 22-year-old Canadian international is contracted with Bayern Munich until the summer of 2025. His arrival would command a hefty fee, and that remains the only hurdle to completing the operation.
Finally, the administration hope to complete their future midfield core in June, an objective they are already close to achieving. Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are both candidates to book a regular starting role in the middle of the park for years to come, and Jude Bellingham’s addition would come as the cherry on top.
Only the final negotiations surrounding the Englishman’s transfer are left to be completed, and the deal could be made official in the weeks to come. Needless to say, he is well-placed to become the team’s first summer signing.
