Former Black Stars forward Raphael Dwamena passed away at the scene while playing for his club, Egnatia Rroghozine.

Raphael was participating in an Albanian league match against FK Partizani when the game was called off with a 1:1 score.

The former Red Bull Salzburg forward passed dead when medical personnel were unable to revive him.

Dwamena’s teams have confirmed his passing; FC Zurich of Switzerland has also taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express their condolences.

In 2021, he suffered his most recent setback when he collapsed during a cup match for the Austrian team BW Linz.
