Sancho Denies Claims From Erik Ten Hag
- ‘Scapegoat’ Sancho Denies Erik ten Hag training claims.
Jadon Sancho has denied claims from Erik ten Hag that he has not reached the level expected in training at Manchester United and has accused the manager of using him as a ‘scapegoat’.
Sancho was not included in the squad for Manchester United’s 3-1 defeat at Arsenal on Sunday, continuing a difficult spell with the Red Devils since his £72m arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.
The winger has featured for just 77 minutes across three substitute appearances this season and Ten Hag said Sancho was not selected at Arsenal this weekend based on his performance in training.
“Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him,” Ten Hag said, as per Sky Sports
“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”
Sancho has hit back at those claims from Ten Hag, taking to social media to deny suggestions he had not trained to the required standard.
“Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week, Sancho Wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, l’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair! “All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team.
“I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and (am) grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.
“I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”
