STUNNING ODDS REVEALED FOR TYSON FURY AGAINST FRANCIS NGANNOU.
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou, anyone? – Bookmakers released eye-popping odds on a potential cross-codes heavyweight battle in 2022.
Fury facing Ngannou in 2022 increased in possibility as “The Gypsy King” stated he would explore opportunities outside the scope of a WBC title defense.
Ngannou, the current UFC champion, is nursing an injury. However, Fury’s US promoter Bob Arum is open to the discussion to get the fight on.
According to the UFC odds on Fury vs. Ngannou, boxing rules over MMA, though. Therefore, it might take some persuading from Arum to get the Nigerian to agree in his first fight back.
Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou
“[Francis Ngannou] is still recovering from an injury, but I would love to do that fight,” Arum told the media. “Depending on Ngannou’s contract with the UFC, we need to do it with or without the UFC. But that would be a huge, huge event.
“I’m interested. Who wouldn’t be? Ngannou was (is) the heavyweight champion of the UFC, and with Tyson Fury, I think it will be a huge event.”
Fury is unbeaten in 33 bouts, and retirement would mean he would miss out on an opportunity to fight for the undisputed crown. With it, a chance to cement his status as Britain’s greatest ever heavyweight.
Arum added on Fury coming out of retirement, “Tyson is a very intelligent guy. He has a lot of opportunities outside of boxing, so you take it with a guy like Tyson one step at a time.
“So I’m optimistic, without discussing it with him, that sometime down the road, he’ll fight the winner of Joshua-Usyk, which I hope is Usyk.
“He’ll fight Ngannou and maybe call it a day. But I know he loves training, and he loves being in the ring, so that’s a plus.”
Usyk vs Joshua 2
The winner of Usyk vs. Joshua 2 – announced yesterday for August 20 – will have mandatory obligations. That alone could rule out Fury taking on either rival.
Tackling Ngannou in Las Vegas under the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip does hold appeal as an alternative spectacle.
As for how the fight goes down, fractions of 1/20 tell its own story in favor of Fury. Ngannou has no chance to win if you follow how the experts see it.
Like Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor before it, Fury vs. Ngannou could prove a one-sided affair.
