Tao Geoghegan Hart was born on March 30, 1995, to his father, Tom Geoghan, and his mother, Anna Hart. His family has Scottish and Irish ancestry.
Geoghegan Hart, who was born in Holloway, London, grew up in the London Fields neighborhood of Hackney with his three younger siblings.

As they were growing up, they spent time moving back and forth between their parent’s homes, but they were always together.
However, things changed when he decided to follow his dream of becoming a professional cyclist and moved to Spain seven years ago.
Despite the physical distance, they have managed to stay connected through their social circles.
In fact, Tao even got a tattoo of a circle on his left arm. When they turned 18, they got a matching tattoos to symbolize their connection.
Additionally, they cover their belongings with circle stickers that they had made, as it holds a special meaning for them.
Tao Geoghegan Hart’s younger brother Bede made a bet with him that he would win the Giro d’Italia. Initially, Tao dismissed the idea, saying, “Don’t be ridiculous.”
However, Tao went on to win the race, earning him a €300,000 prize. As per their bet, Tao honored his promise and bought Bede a car with a chunk of his prize money.
Despite his win, Tao advised people not to gamble.
