Marc Cucurella and Raheem Sterling have been named in the Premier League‘s ‘Flop XI’ of the 2022/23 season.
Despite Chelsea owner Todd Boehly spending huge sums of money on new players last summer, the pair have arguably failed to live up to expectations so far at Stamford Bridge.
Graham Potter‘s side are currently ninth in the table, with the Blues well outside of the race for a place in the Champions League.
So it’s no surprise then that Kalidou Koulibaly also makes the XI – but who else makes the team, put together by Depredict?
GOALKEEPER – Neto
Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto arrived with a big reputation having previously played for Barcelona and Juventus – but has looked like a fish out of water between the sticks.
Neto has been linked to a number of clubs and is likely to be sold in the summer.
CENTRE-BACK – Kalidou Koulibaly
After eight seasons at Napoli – including 236 league appearances – Chelsea signed Koulibaly for £33 million in 2022.
But he has never looked very convincing before losing his place in the starting line-up after struggling for form in recent weeks.
CENTRE-BACK – Duje Caleta-Car

After falling out with Southampton manager Nathan Jones, the Croatian suffered the ignominy of being forced to play in the development squad.
LEFT-BACK – Marc Cucurella
Another Boehly buy, Cucurella has enjoyed little more success than Koulibaly at Chelsea.
With Ben Chilwell now back from injury, he may very well find himself on the bench if he’s not careful.
RIGHT-BACK – Thilo Kehrer
But in hindsight they probably wish that they hadn’t.
CENTRE-MID – Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin Phillips on the other hand has been hampered by injuries during his seven-month stint in Manchester.

CENTRE-MID – Billy Gilmour
Billy Gilmour joined Brighton on Deadline Day for £9 million in the summer – after being named Man of the Match in Scotland’s draw with England at Euro 2020.
Now granted, Gilmour genuinely does seem like a decent prospect, but injuries and inconsistent form means he has never quite lived up to his potential so far.
ATTACKING MID – Joe Aribo
Yeah, those days are long gone now.
LEFT-WING – Raheem Sterling
Another winger signed after the change in ownership, Chelsea brought Sterling in from Manchester City in a £47.5 million deal a few months after Pep Guardiola’s side won the league again.
RIGHT-WING – Antony
Having starred at Sao Paulo – and then at Ajax – Manchester United coughed up £82 million to sign Antony last August.
But he has scored just three times in six months in the Premier League.
STRIKER – Richarlison
It’s worth pointing out that Richarlison scored plenty of goals for Everton.
However, he has struggled to replicate his top form for Tottenham Hotspur.
