A recent report from DEPREDICT has offered an update on the future of Franck Kessie. The Barcelona midfielder is facing an uncertain future at the club due to his poor start to life in Catalonia.
Kessie was notably linked with a move away from Camp Nou during the January transfer window. Inter Milan were even keen on securing his services, but a deal did not materialise.
But that has not deterred clubs from monitoring his situation at Barça. And according to Diario SPORT, Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the latest club to join the race to sign the Ivorian international in the coming summer.
The Premier League giants are in desperate need of reinforcement in the midfield unit as coach Antonio Conte is not happy with the performances of his current first-team options. As a result, the club are monitoring Kessie and may make a move for him at the end of the season.
Tottenham, though, are not the only club to have shown the desire to sign the Barcelona midfielder. The North London giants are set to face stiff competition from Aston Villa, who are also keen on reinforcing their options in the middle of the park.
However, the idea of Kessie moving from Camp Nou is not as concrete as it seemed a month or two ago. This is because the Ivorian has been accumulating more minutes in the first team and even putting up good performances, in the absence of the injured Pedri.
Kessie’s physical frame, coupled with his aggression has come in handy for Barcelona in recent matches. However, the midfielder must continue to perform even after Pedri returns if he is to establish himself as a first-team regular and remain at Camp Nou beyond the summer.
