Black Stars players and the technical team warmly welcomed defender Jonathan Mensah, who was released from hospital on Monday afternoon in Angola.
The Ghana defender suffered a serious head injury and had to be rushed to the Clinical Girasol, a private hospital in Luanda.
In a video posted on Twitter, the towering defender was beaming with smiles as his teammates embraced him.
Jonathan Mensah started alongside Leicester City’s Daniel Amartey in defence as Ghana were held to a 1-1 draw in their second Group E game of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Columbus Crew captain will be given a few days off to fully recover before the trip to Japan for the Kirin Cup tournament.
The Black Stars will play Japan, Chile and Tunisia at the four-team tournament.
