West Ham In Advanced Talks With Juventus To Sign Denis Zakaria
West Ham United are reportedly in advanced talks with Juventus to sign Denis Zakaria.
The East Londoners are expected to lose Declan Rice this summer, with Arsenal and Manchester City both very keen on him.
The Gunners have already seen their three offers rejected for the England international, while City have launched their first bid recently.
The Hammers are looking to find a replacement for Rice, and they believe Zakaria to be a perfect fit.
The Switzerland international spent the last season on loan at Chelsea but failed to make a big impact at Stamford Bridge.
He made only 11 appearances in all competitions, contributing a goal.
The defensive midfielder’s loan deal included a permanent buy option, but the Blues don’t plan to trigger that clause.
However, Zakaria could still end up moving to the Premier League this summer due to interest from West Ham.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the Hammers are in advanced talks with Juventus over a move for Zakaria.
The 26-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements at the Old Lady, and the Serie A outfit are ready to offload him in this transfer window.
The Swiss footballer started his senior career at Servette before joining Young Boys in the summer of 2015.
His performances in Bern landed him a move to Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017, where he made over 140 appearances.
Juventus signed him in January last year in a deal worth €8.6 million, but they are now ready to part company with him this summer.
