Joey Porter Jr was born to Christy and Joey Porter Sr on July 16, 2000, in Bakersfield, California.
His father, Joseph Eugene Porter, played college football for Colorado State from 1995 to 1998.
The Pittsburgh Steelers then drafted Joey Sr as the 73rd overall pick in the third round of the 1999 NFL draft.
Joey Sr then played for thirteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL), playing for Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins, and Arizona Cardinals.
He was the Super Bowl XL champion and was named 2 times in the First-team All-Pro and 3 times in the Second-team All-Pro.
The outside linebacker then began his coaching career at Colorado State as a defensive assistant before moving on to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014 as a defensive assistant coach.
He then worked as an outside linebackers coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2015 to 2018.
Currently, Joey Sr is the linebackers coach for the San Antonio Brahmas.
On the other hand, Joey Jr’s mother, Christy, is the executive director of the Jasmine Nyree Campus.
