Barcelona Attacker Not Ready To Leave The Club, Has Informed Agent
It was reported yesterday that Ansu Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes is doing everything he can to convince the player to leave Camp Nou ahead of the new season.
The youngster has failed to earn prominence in Xavi’s first-team plans, falling behind the likes of Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele and Gavi in the pecking order. His struggles have tempted Barça to consider a summer sale, as they look to bring in fresh funds.
However, according to a fresh report from Mundo Deportivo, Ansu Fati has no desire to leave Barcelona. The player has informed Mendes of his intention to continue at Camp Nou and fight for a place in the team.
This serves as a potential blow for Barcelona as they have very limited avenues where they can make money this summer. Fati’s sale was one of them, as the youngster still had an excellent standing among European giants due to his potential.
But with the attacker keen on remaining at Camp Nou, Barcelona may have to look into other avenues. However, there is still a chance Fati may leave the club, especially if Xavi Hernandez himself informs of his dwindling role in the first team next season.
As for Barcelona’s other options, the club are likely to cash in on Ferran Torres following the Spaniard’s poor performances this past season. He has failed to live up to the expectations since joining from Man City and will be offloaded in the coming summer, barring a miracle.
Another player in contention to leave Camp Nou is Franck Kessie. The Ivorian has reportedly given the green light to Barça to offload him in the coming summer, with Inter Milan among the clubs interested in his services.
Barça would favour the sale of Kessie and Torres as they look to reduce the salary mass in the squad, which in turn, could help them bring in new stars ahead of the new season.
