Barcelona Face More Trouble With Registration OF Gavi As La Liga Raise Issue
La Liga has recently filed a formal appeal in court against Barcelona’s registration of Gavi. This came after a court ruling itself allowed Barcelona to register the youngster as part of the senior side earlier in the year.
A recent report from GOAL has offered a detailed update on the situation, suggesting that the situation of Gavi and his status as a first-team player could turn around in the near future, as La Liga’s appeal has a high chance of success.
La Liga imply that Barcelona have registered Gavi without listening to their position. It has consistently maintained that the club do not have the financial capacity to register the young midfielder. Therefore, La Liga consider the registration void as the club are breaching Fair Play rules.
Barcelona must reduce its salary mass if they are to register or sign any new players. At the moment, they are exceeding the salary limit set by La Liga, and as the body considers itself, the top-most authority in Spanish football.
Its president Javier Tebas has strongly maintained that only La Liga has the material competence to demand compliance with the rules and regulations it creates. Barcelona’s breach of FFP, therefore, means La Liga even has a strong chance of succeeding in court, as far as the Gavi registration is concerned.
This entire ordeal has led to a sense of pessimism and uncertainty in and around Barcelona. While the young midfielder will continue to be a part of the senior side, at any case, there is a possibility he could go back to the Barça Athletic team when the season ends, if La Liga succeed in court.
