Mateu Alemany, Barcelona’s director of football, has spoken about the club’s transfer window.
Mateu Alemany admitted that Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat was an option, and that the club’s priority was the registration of players who have signed contract extensions.
Alemany also spoke about LA Galaxy’s Julián Araújo, the 21-year-old right-back who played at the Barça Academy in Arizona and who was due to complete his move to Camp Nou.
On the structure of the squad
“There have been two or three departures and that has meant savings for the club. What the club prioritises is the need to register the players who have signed extensions. In the next few weeks we will bring in Araújo, Marcos Alonso and Iñaki Peña,” he said in words reported by Diario AS.
On Julián Araujo
“To begin with, he was coming to Barça B; there has been a bit of confusion there. But we didn’t arrive on time because of a computer error. And as it’s 18 seconds, I don’t know what FIFA is going to do.”
