Bayern Munich Reach Verbal Agreement With Kim Min-Jae
- Bayern Munich have reached a verbal agreement with Kim Min-jae, as exclusively reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Kim has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich, and will sign a five-year deal until 2028. Bayern Munich will now pay the reported release clause of around €50m, which becomes active on July 1, to sign the Napoli defender. The South Korean will earn around €10m-€12m gross salary per year.
As further reported by Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United were planning to improve on their offer but Kim decided to join Bayern Munich. He will become the Rekordmeister’s second signing following the arrival of Raphaël Guerreiro on a free transfer.
Kim was influential for Napoli season as they lifted the Serie A title, playing 35 league games.
Bayern Munich’s need to strengthen their defence comes after Lucas Hernandez told the club that he would like to leave, after hearing upon PSG’s interest. Benjamin Pavard is also expected to leave the club after informing bosses that he wouldn’t be extending his contract beyond 2024.
