Man United Increase £55 Million Bid For Chelsea’s Mount

  • Man United Prepared To ‘Fractionally’ Increase Mason Mount Bid To Push Through Deal.

Manchester United have re-opened talks with Chelsea over a deal for Mason Mount and are prepared to ‘fractionally’ increase their third offer in a bid to land the England midfielder.

United have seen three offers for Mount turned down by Chelsea, with the latest worth £55m including add-ons. Chelsea had valued Mount in excess of £70m, but have since reduced that asking price to £65m given the 24-year-old is out of contract next summer.

Erik ten Hag’s side are unwilling to meet that valuation for a player who will be available on a free transfer next summer, but the Daily Mail are reporting that the Red Devils are prepared to ‘fractionally’ increase their third offer in a bid to reach an agreement.

There is optimism that a deal can be reached as United look to strengthen their squad ahead of the club’s Champions League return next season.

The Red Devils are also in talks with Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana over a move to Old Trafford and are targeting a centre-forward before the window’s closure.

Mount is understood to be open to the move to Manchester United, but will ‘accept the situation’ if a deal can not be agreed.

United are considering a move for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo should negotiations not find a breakthrough, with the Ecuador international also a transfer target for Chelsea.
