Bernardo Silva Favours A Move To Barcelona Or PSG Over Saudi Arabia
Contrary to reports in Spanish media, Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva (28) is not close to agreeing a move to Saudi outfit Al-Hilal, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The former Monaco midfielder was the latest major European player to be linked with a move to a PIF-funded side.
However, the treble winner is currently not convinced that a move to the Gulf kingdom would be the ideal next step for his career.
The Lisbon-born playmaker is tied to Manchester City with a contract set to expire in 2025. Silva is said to be considering a move out of Northern England.
The 28-year-old would be favouring a move to either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain according to the outlet. PSG tried to offer Manchester City Marco Verratti (30) and Gianluigi Donnarumma (24) in exchange for Silva, to no avail yet.
Should Silva join PSG, he would reunite with former Monaco Technical Director Luís Campos. The PSG Sporting Advisor and Silva are said to hold each other in high esteem.
It would be more complicated for Barcelona to agree a transfer fee with Manchester City over Silva’s transfer due to FFP complications. Another move has seen the Catalans reportedly thrash out a deal to sign Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan (32) on a free transfer.
