Bismack Biyombo is blessed with six siblings; three brothers, Biska, Bikim, and Billy, and three sisters, Bimeline, Bikeline, and Bimela.
Bismack Biyombo Sumba (born August 28, 1992), a Congolese professional basketball player, plays for the Phoenix Suns in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Biyombo started his professional career with the Fuenlabrada-Getafe Madrid in 2019 and later joined CB Illescas.
After playing two seasons with CB Illescas, he joined Baloncesto Fuenlabrada before embarking on a bigger journey.
His NBA journey started after the Sacramento Kings drafted him with the 7th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. However, he was traded to the Charlotte Bobcats on draft night.
Besides the Hornets and Suns, the professional player has played for Toronto Raptors and Orlando Magic.
However, Sumba is yet to play for his national basketball team of Congo.
Bismack Biyombo Brothers: Biska, Billy, And Bikim
Bismack Biyombo was born into a family with a total of seven kids. He grew up with three brothers; Biska, Billy, and Bikim, and three sisters; Bimeline, Bikeline, and Bimela.
Like Biyombo, his three brothers also have a passion for basketball. Billy, 27, studied at St. Leo University and is involved in finance.
While in Florida, he played with Ben Simmons and D’Angelo Russell, who were going to be future NBA stars.
Biska, 26, graduated from Montverde Academy and attended Trinidad State Junior College. He played soccer for VCU Men’s Soccer.
Bikim played high school basketball for the Montverde Academy and later committed to Chipola College for his collegiate years.
All of Bismack’s sisters attended Mountain Mission School in southwest Virginia. One of his sisters, Bimeline, 23, wanted to become a nurse.
Bismack Biyombo’s Childhood
Since childhood, Bismack has been passionate about basketball and often played in the streets of Lubumbashi with his brothers and friends.
When Bismack was very young, they didn’t have proper basketball facilities or equipment, but the professional basketball player had already made up his mind to play in the top league.
According to Bismack, childhood was challenging, as in Congo, there was political instability and economic difficulties.
Despite the difficulties, the player eventually got recognized by the scouts and coaches and got the opportunity to play professional basketball.
As Bismack faced challenges in childhood, he gave his siblings everything they wanted and, most importantly, good education.
Bismack Biyombo, A Father Figure
Bismack Biyombo was born in Lubumbashi, in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to François and Françoise Biyombo.
Growing up, Bismack’s role model was his father. Basmick’s father, Francois, as the eldest child of his family, took care of his siblings after his parents died.
Bismack himself, as the eldest of the Biyombo siblings, looked after the Biyombo family. The professional basketball player made sure that his siblings got a proper education after he became economically well-to-do.
The professional basketball player enrolled all his six siblings in boarding schools or colleges in the United States.
Bismack used to take care of their tuition fee and all the other expenses.
Bismack’s father gave a blueprint into his life and raised some amazing kids. Unfortunately, Francois died in August 2021.
