Brazilian Germ Will Sign A Six-Year Deal With Barcelona
- Brazilian Vitor Roque will sign six-year contract with Barca after €45m agreement.
A week ago, Barcelona finally managed to make a breakthrough in their attempts to sign Vitor Roque from Athletico Paranaense. The La Liga champions reached an agreement worth €45 million with the Brazilian outfit for the transfer of the 18-year-old striker.
Of the €45 million, €35 million would be fixed fees and the remaining €10 million would be as variables and add-ons.
With the deal on the cusp of completion, Mundo Deportivo has come out with details of the contract that young Roque will be signing with Barcelona.
It had been previously suggested that the teenage prodigy would be penning a five-year deal until 2028. But as per the latest update, that is not the case and Roque will instead be signing a six-year contract with the Blaugrana, keeping him at the club until 2029.
In addition to that, the Brazilian striker’s contract will also come with a mammoth €1000 million release clause, much like the deals of Gavi, Pedri, and Ansu Fati. Furthermore, the youngster’s salary will not exceed €3 million per year.
The agreement will likely be ratified and the deal made official in the coming week. However, given the Financial Fair Play situation at Barcelona, there is no certainty that Roque can be registered this summer.
As such, the option of him returning to Athletico Paranaense on loan until the end of the year is not ruled out. The Brazilian outfit, too, would prefer such an arrangement due to the importance of the player in the team and their desire to succeed in the Copa Libertadores.
However, for now, Barça anticipate that there should be no issues with registering Roque. Either way, Athletico wish to learn the fate of their young talent soon as the transfer window in Brazil closes on July 30 and they need enough time to sign an adequate replacement.
