Celtic Manager Emerging As Preferred Candidate For Tottenham Hotspur Vacant Job
Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is emerging as the preferred candidate for the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job, as reported by Sky Sports.
The 57-year-old has been on Spurs’ shortlist along with the likes of Fulham’s Marco Silva and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Roberto De Zerbi, and it now appears the North London club will step up their pursuit for the Australian.
Postecoglou secured his second Scottish Premiership league title this season after joining the Glasgow-based club in the summer of 2021, following a spell with J1 league side Yokohama F. Marinos.
In fact, the former Australia manager is on the brink of sealing a domestic cup treble with The Hoops. Celtic face Inverness in the Scottish Cup final on Saturday.
Spurs reportedly had Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot on their shortlist but the Dutchman has since confirmed he will be staying put at the recently crowned Eredivisie champions.
With the transfer window reopening on Wednesday June, 14, Spurs will be eager to move swiftly and complete a deal with Celtic to bring Postecoglou to North London.
