Chelsea and Manchester United are among a number of Premier League clubs to have held talks with Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili over a summer move.
Mamardashvili’s representatives have been in England to discuss a potential transfer to the Premier League at the end of the season, with the Georgian expected to leave a Valencia side who are in La Liga’s relegation places and battling to preserve their top-flight status in Spain.
The 22-year-old has impressed despite Valencia’s struggles this season and 90min are reporting that a number of Premier League clubs are interested in a deal. Manchester United and Chelsea having held talks with the player’s agent as the duo consider goalkeeping additions this summer.
David de Gea’s deal is set to expire at the end of the season and despite the expectation that the Spaniard will re-sign at Manchester United, a new goalkeeper remains a priority for Erik ten Hag with Dean Henderson expected to depart on a permanent deal at the end of the season.
Chelsea are also targeting a goalkeeper with neither Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy having convinced as first-choice this season, while Tottenham are also said to be interested in Mamardashvili as the north Londoners target a long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Leicester are believed to be the strongest suitors for the Valencia shot-stopper however, provided the Foxes retain their Premier League status this season.
