Chelsea Delay Lukaku, Ziyech And Aubameyang Training Return Ahead Of Potential Transfers
Chelsea have delayed the return dates of Romelu Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for pre-season as the club look to offload the trio.
Each were due to report back to the club’s Cobham training ground this week for pre-season training, but Chelsea have given the unwanted group a revised date of Monday as the west Londoners look to agree sales.
According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are keen to avoid complicating Mauricio Pochettino’s first pre-season with the presence of players who do not feature in the new manager’s plans.
Pochettino is currently working with those expected to be involved next season, while former goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is overseeing another group which contains a number of last season’s loanees and younger players who Chelsea are open to offers for.
Chelsea are in talks with Inter Milan over a permanent deal for Lukaku, who spent last season on loan at the Italian side.
Inter have seen an opening offer rejected with Chelsea set to hold firm in their £40m valuation of the Belgium international, with Juventus also interested in the forward. Lukaku has turned down a move to The Saudi Pro League.
Aubameyang is also expected to move on after a disappointing debut campaign and has held talks with numerous clubs in Europe and in Saudi Arabia, while Ziyech is in negotiations with Saudi sides after a move to Al-Nassr collapsed.
The Moroccan saw a January loan move to PSG collapse due to the late submission of paperwork.
