Christian Eriksen Praises Erik Ten Hag For Transforming Man United’s Season
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has praised coach Erik ten Hag for transforming the club upon his arrival this summer.
The 53-year-old manager has led the Red Devils to fourth on the Premier League table with eight games left.
Also, United have won their first title in six years. They beat Newcastle United to claim the EFL Cup. Their success has not stopped there.
Manchester United have reached the final of the FA Cup and face Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final this Thursday.
The accomplishments are no easy feat, considering Ten Hag had the Cristiano Ronaldo situation, and they did not start well.
Eriksen believes the former Ajax manager has brought discipline and clear football ideas. He said those ideas are working on the pitch after a slow start.
Speaking to Man Utd’s website, Eriksen said: “He has brought discipline in football terms and ideas.
“His ideas are being imprinted in the players, compared to the beginning. Looking at them now, people know what they are doing on the pitch.
“So, I think he is done the structure, the discipline, and then, of course, his idea is just fun football to play.”
Despite the high praise for his manager and the team, Eriksen reiterated that there were still things to improve. Eriksen remarked that Ten Hag would say the same as well.
Also, Eriksen stated that they want to win all the cup competitions they are in. They may be far off the league title, but the cup titles are an opportunity to secure more trophies.
Eriksen has been out since February when he suffered an ankle injury against Reading in the FA Cup.
The Royals striker Andy Carroll recklessly tackled the former Inter Milan man. The challenge left Erik ten Hag incensed.
However, Eriksen has returned to training and was in the matchday squad for their Premier League clash with Everton. He came on in the second half.
He will now focus on helping the club for the campaign’s final stretch as they seek more glory.
