Christian Eriksen Provides Fresh Injury Update On Potential Return Date
Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has provided a fresh update on his injury.
The Danish international formed a major part of Erik ten Hag’s side after joining on a free transfer from Brentford.
Eriksen struck up an impressive partnership with fellow new signing Casemiro but was ruled out of action in January after suffering a long-term injury against Reading in the FA Cup.
As a result, the former Tottenham star missed United’s Carabao Cup final win over Newcastle at Wembley but could return for his team’s run-in.
United sit third in the Premier League but are far from guaranteed a top four finish between now and the end of the season, while they also face key dates both the FA Cup and the Europa League.
Ten Hag had hinted 31-year-old would be in line to return in April and, speaking to the club’s official website, revealed the latest on his comeback trail.
“Yeah, it is going well. I have just started being outside as you saw [on Instagram] with football boots on,” he said.
“And then we take it from there, that is the next step. I have been in the gym for some weeks now and now it is time to do the next rehab session outside.”
