Crystal Palace Sack Patrick Vieira After 12 Games Winless Run
Crystal Palace have announced that they have parted company with French manager Patrick Vieira.
The former OGC Nice manager had been under pressure since the start of 2023.
Palace are without a win in the 12 games played across all competitions this year.
They have lost six Premier League games and drawn the other five.
The poor run has left them fearing for their top-flight status, with just three points between them and the drop zone.
Vieira took over from Roy Hodgson in 2021 and helped guide Palace to 12th place last term.
Unfortunately, his side have suffered a sharp decline in front of goal, and that has proven costly.
The Eagles have scored just four times in their last 11 league games.
They failed to register a shot on target in their last three games heading into the game against Brighton & Hove Albion.
As a result, Palace became the first team since 2003-04 to do so.
They have also lacked intensity and currently rank lowest in average distance covered per game.
Palace face league leaders Arsenal on Sunday and will look to appoint a new manager before the end of the international break.
The Gunners, Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham are the only teams above them in the table out of their remaining 11 games.
They have a lot of six-pointers to play and should not have a problem staying up.
Unfortunately, Vieira did not look capable of getting the job done despite his impressive debut campaign.
There are plenty of top managerial options available, but Palace have to get their next appointment right if they want to survive relegation.
