Darren Bent has said to reporters that he would not take former Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale at Arsenal.
The former Tottenham striker is an Arsenal fan, but the talkSPORT pundit does not want the Real Madrid winger at the Emirates Stadium.
Bent believes that young Arsenal players such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli will be ahead of Bale if the 32-year-old were to move to the Gunners.
Bale is out of contract at Spanish and European giants Madrid at the end of the season and will become a free agent in the summer of 2022.
Bent said on talkSPORT (4:16pm, March 25, 2022) when asked if he would take Bale at Arsenal: “No, I don’t think so.
“It’s not that he is not good enough, but he has got Saka in front of him, Martinelli, these guys are getting better and better. You don’t want to stunt their development.”
In our opinion, Arsenal will not sign Bale, and the former Tottenham star himself will not want to move to the Gunners.
After all, Bale is a former Tottenham player.
And, as everyone knows, Arsenal and Tottenham are bitter North London rivals.
The Gunners have a very young and dynamic team as well, and Bale is now in his early 30s.
Now, of course, we know how good Bale is, and, as he showed for Wales against Austria, he is brilliant on his day.
However, we do not think that Arsenal need someone like Bale who has had injury problems.
