Donny Van De Beek Cleared To Leave Man United After Disappointing Spell

It hasn’t gone to plan for Donny van de Beek at Manchester United.

The Netherlands international joined United in September 2020 from Ajax, but has struggled to establish a foothold in the first team under a number of managers.

Van de Beek has had issues with injuries and he has been behind Bruno Fernandes in the midfield pecking order.

However, many thought Van de Beek would catch a break after Erik ten Hag’s arrival in Manchester last year – but things didn’t go in the player’s favour again.

To make matters worse an injury in January kept him out of action for the second half of last season.

Van de Beek returned to pre-season training in recent days but his days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered.

According to DEPREDICT, the decision-makers at United have given a green light to Van de Gea’s possible departure this summer.

While it is understood that Ten Hag has kept a good relationship with Van de Beek, the midfielder is not going to get enough game time to keep him happy and it would be best for all parties to cut their losses.

The report adds that Van de Beek has interest from a number of Italian clubs. Enquiries have already been made by Inter Milan, Roma and AC Milan.

Van de Beek reportedly has interest from the Premier League too — from clubs such as Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old struggled during a loan spell at Everton previously, so he may be advised to get away from the Premier League.

Europa League holders Sevilla and Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Nice are also among the club said to be chasing Van de Beek.
