Barcelona will have to deal with a massive summer clearout ahead of the transfer window in an attempt to raise money through player sales. With the need or reducing the wage bill by over €200 million, the Catalans will need to get rid of a fair few players before they can make more signings.
As the season has gone on, some of the potential exits have become increasingly clear. The likes of Eric Garcia, Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati, Franck Kessie, and Jordi Alba could all be heading towards the exit door, but their departure will be easier said than done.
According to a report by SPORT, Barcelona could use Ferran in a player swap deal to bring in one of their transfer targets. It is also possible that he could be loaned out in the summer in an attempt to manage the wage bill.
Recent reports have suggested that Barcelona could propose a swap deal with Atletico Madrid in an attempt to bring in Yannick Carrasco, who is on the Catalan’s radar for the summer.
They already have a clause to sign the Belgian for a sum of around €20 million, but are not looking to pay that much for his services. If reports are to be believed, Barça will be looking to complete the transfer for no more than €9-10 million.
As for Ferran, it has been rumoured that Barcelona are ready to offload him in the summer for a sum of around €25 million.
The Spaniard has four goals and one assist in the league this season across 28 games, and has lost his place in the starting lineup to Gavi, who seems to be Xavi’s first choice at left-wing.
