Alejandro Balde Has Received Several Offers But Wants To Renew And Stay At Barcelona

As reported earlier, Barcelona will have a meeting with superagent Jorge Mendes today to discuss the future of struggling forward Ansu Fati.

Helena Condis of COPE, who broke the news of the meeting between Barça and Mendes, also reports that apart from Fati’s future, the two parties will also be involved in talks about the contract renewals of two academy gems in Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal.

Negotiations for the renewals of both Balde and Yamal have been going on with Mendes for a while now and everything seems to be on track at this point. Reports on Monday suggested that Yamal had already given his ‘yes’ to renew with the Blaugrana.

As for Balde, Helena Condis is reporting that the 19-year-old has several offers on the table, but wants to stay at Barcelona and renew his contract.

The left-back made his first-team debut under Ronald Koeman in 2021, but has well and truly established himself as a permanent fixture in the team under Xavi Hernandez this season.

So far in 2022/23, Balde has played 39 times in all competitions, notching up six assists in the process. He is the undisputed first-choice at left-back ahead of seasoned performers like Jordi Alba and Marcos Alonso.

Balde’s current contract with Barcelona expires next year, which has seemingly alerted several clubs who have gone ahead and sent in offers for the 19-year-old Spanish international.

However, as per the report, Balde is very happy with his current role at Barça and wants to stay put at the club.

Negotiations over his renewal are also in very advanced stages and an agreement could be imminent. As has been previously reported, the La Masia graduate will be signing a contract until 2027 with a mammoth €1 billion release clause inserted in it.
