“I Know I’m Not The Finished Article” – Noni Madueke Determined To Improve
Noni Madueke did a really nice interview with Sky Sports last week ahead of the Spurs game, and did a similar piece with the Chelsea website where he talked about his first month at the club and his all round game.
Focused on hard work and improvement, Madueke admitted that he “always wanted to get back to the Premier League,” although he knows he’s “20 years old” and is not “the finished article.”
Those comments reflected the very mature attitude we saw in that Sky interview – the same desire to succeed that drove him to take the risk and head to Holland as a teenager to join PSV.
As it stands, he faces one of the toughest battles for minutes in the squad.
He’s up against mega money signing Mykhailo Mudryk, the experienced Raheem Sterling, plus Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech, plus the numerous attackers like Joao Felix and Mason Mount who could also be deployed out wide.
But with his great attitude and some hard work, we’re sure Madueke has a good a chance as any of them of becoming a regular.
