Inter Miami Announce New Manager Ahead Of Lionel Messi’s Arrival
- Inter Miami have confirmed Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino as their new manager on Wednesday.
He becomes the Major League Soccer outfit’s third former Barcelona signing this summer after the arrivals of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.
The 60-year-old previously worked alongside the pair in 2013/14 and also coached Messi for two years with the Argentina national team, culminating in two Copa América final appearances.
“Tata is a highly respected figure in our sport whose career speaks for itself,” said Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham.
“We are confident that his achievements and experience as a coach will inspire our team and excite the fans, and we are excited to see the impact he will have on and off the pitch.”
Martino previously won the 2018 MLS Cup during a two-year spell with Atlanta United.
