Inter Miami remain determined to land Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, DEPREDICT understands.
Sources have confirmed to DEPREDICT that the Major League Soccer side extended an initial offer to Busquets, but talks are ongoing.
Inter Miami manager Phil Neville recently confirmed his side’s interest in signing both Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets this summer, revealing active intentions to sign the pair.
“I’m not going to deny [it and say] there isn’t truth in the speculation that we’re interested in Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets,” Neville said.
“We’re always going to be linked with the best players in the world. We had Gonzalo Higuain and Blaise Matuidi. Now we’ve got the opportunity to bring in some new designated players following their retirements.
“We want to bring the best players in the world to this football club. Messi and Busquets are the two that stand out more in recent years. They’re great players who would still be a massive benefit to this organisation. For MLS, it would be a game-changer.”
But the midfielder is not short of options, with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr also presenting Busquets with a deal. Contractually, the midfielder remains tied to Barcelona until June 30, though La Liga team have offered him a new one-year deal with option for a further year.
The decision is ultimately down to Busquets, though DEPREDICT understands he has not made it yet.
